About Us
A neurodivergent-led community creating low-pressure spaces for connection and belonging
ND Community Hub is a neurodivergent-led community based in the South West of Western Australia, created for neurodivergent adults seeking connection without pressure or expectation. We design calm, inclusive events and community programs that prioritise emotional safety, choice, and accessibility. Our spaces are intentionally low-pressure - recognising that showing up can be hard, and participation looks different for everyone.

Our Story
ND Community Hub was created from lived experience.
As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent adult, I’ve spent much of my life navigating extreme social anxiety and the invisible effort it takes to show up, connect, and participate in everyday social spaces. Even when I wanted community, getting out the door often felt overwhelming - and many existing spaces simply weren’t designed with that reality in mind.
I found myself pushing through discomfort just to attend social activities, meetings, or events, and wondering why connection had to feel so hard. Over time, it became clear that the issue wasn’t a lack of desire for connection - it was the lack of spaces that truly accounted for neurodivergent needs. ND Community Hub was created to make that process even a little bit easier for others in the same place I once was.
By designing low-pressure, predictable, and inclusive spaces, the aim is to reduce barriers to connection and offer an alternative to traditional social settings - one where people can show up in ways that feel manageable, authentic, and safe.

Our Values
ND Community Hub is grounded in the following values, which guide how we design our spaces, events, and interactions.

Safety before performance
We prioritise emotional, sensory, and nervous-system safety over productivity, participation, or social expectations. People are not required to perform, explain themselves, or engage in ways that don’t feel right.

Inclusion without pressure
We aim to reduce barriers to connection while recognising that no single space can meet every need. Inclusion means flexibility, openness, and ongoing learning - not perfection.

Choice and autonomy
Participation looks different for everyone. Arriving late, leaving early, observing quietly, or changing your mind are all valid forms of participation. We respect each person’s right to choose what works for them.

Community-led and lived experience
ND Community Hub is created by neurodivergent people, for neurodivergent people. Our approach is shaped by lived experience and a deep understanding of how hard showing up can be.

Respect and consent
We value kindness, consent, and respect for personal boundaries. We honour different communication styles, energy levels, and lived experiences.

Predictability and transparency
We believe knowing what to expect reduces anxiety. We aim to communicate clearly and openly so people can make informed choices about participation.
